Persephone: Parent

A fine site

Back at Home

on June 10, 2013

After dozing on one of the two trains home, a semi decent night’s sleep at the hotel and a random feeding session in Costa Coffee as I ate a yummy blueberry and vanilla cake, we got home by 2pm although it felt a hell of a lot later.

Having successfully fed Elvis in the comfy bucket chair in the hotel and all the other random chairs (including one hidden behind a pillar so I could listen to the speeches but not be caught in photos!), we started testing house chairs in the hope of finding somewhere I can feed without being in pain.

First up was hubby’s desk chair and after cushioning my bum, it passed all the tests. Plus it spins around and is on wheels! I haven’t tested any others yet. Elvis needed to feed quite a bit, but I did score myself over an hour of napping when daddy kept the boy quiet.

Bedtime at 8pm for feeding lying down – more rest – other than the side that still hurts and there was another feed at half 9. Then I got some sleep before a wake up at about 12, which Elvis didn’t settle for after as he was still hungry. So at gone 1am, we were all back asleep. Then he woke at 4, fed, 6, was pacified for a bit by daddy, 7 feed, mummy pacify, 0830 feed.

But since 8pm, aside from sitting up to feed, I have been in bed so have at least been sleeping. Elvis is now asleep again so I could simply roll over however I also haven’t eaten in about 14 hours!

Time for me to get up I reckon. But I feel rested!
