Back to Normal

on July 25, 2013

Now I know there is no real normal, not between babies or within one baby, but after yesterday Elvis is currently back to more regular, 3 hourly feeding!

There are still no feeding cues, but he’s not constantly fussing, he’s not screaming at a feed.

He’s still doing some quick feeds, but he’s not fussy just an hour later, he seems satisfied.
I’ve had just as much sleep as I’d had yesterday but I don’t feel half as tired. I don’t feel half as unsure about all of this.

Shortly after yesterday’s post, hubby came home and repeatedly kept telling me that I’m doing an excellent job, but it’s hard to hear that when you’re busy blubbing about not knowing if E’s fed, or which boob I’m on, or how tired I am.

Today has really been a different day. A new day. A good day.

He’s fed fine, he’s napped fine, we’ve had playtime – both together and him alone – there’s no pattern to the napping, but that’s fine. I did a bit of shopping (sun’s still hot but there’s a lovely breeze) and had a friend over lunch.

Thank you to everyone for their lovely and helpful comments yesterday.

118 days doesn’t seem so bad!
