Napping Hiccups

on March 12, 2014

Well, Elvis has decided to eat his meals again without as much fuss as he had started to have, but now it’s his naps!

Oh if it isn’t one thing!

Since almost forever his 11am nap has been a certainty. He had dropped his 8am or only took 30 minutes so he’d still have an 11. Then he’d go until 2 or 3. Well, 2 days in a row he’s gone for an 8 or half 8 and been forced awake by me for a group. Then he’s refused his 11am and fallen asleep on a boob early afternoon. Today he woke by 2pm and fought a nap from 3pm onwards.

Just as I develop a way of managing things with hubby back at work!

I have no idea what to do.

He’s clearly needing more sleep when he gets up at 7 because he’s tired by 8! I could try a breastfeed at half 6 or 7, hoping he sleeps for another hour. I could speed up our morning to let him have the nap he wants before we go out. I could stop him having that nap, hope he doesn’t catnap in the pushchair and then hope he isn’t too grumpy at whatever baby group.

Or it could all settle itself back down in a few days or he could fall into a new pattern that I’ll adapt to. I just want him to be awake and happy at groups.

And give me time to cook dinner!
