Mummy’s Day Out

on April 25, 2014

For a friend’s birthday, I bought her a trip to a local gym and she so very kindly took me. Now, having babies pretty much the same age, we waited for them to nor be so dependent on milk and went off for some gym fun.

It was the best day ever.

To swim in a serene peaceful swimming pool.

To bake and cough and splutter in the sauna and steam room.

To have an amazing jog on the running machine and then cycle for the first time in two years.

To simply spend time with a friend of over ten years without the new Stinky and Smelly.

Similar to a recent post about simply being a friend for a period of time, I loved spending he day with someone I technically see every week but don’t feel like I actually spend time with. We go to the same baby groups and meet up outside of them, but today it was just us.

I’ve missed my Stinky and Smelly adventures!

Elvis, meanwhile, spent six hours with Nanny. And, the boy who wouldn’t nap at Nanny’s spent most of the day asleep! The longest daytime time we’ve been apart. I loved the smile he had for me when he saw me through the window.
